Hello Lauri. You now, I was never aware of the issues that left-handed writers had with gel inks, I could see why it would cause a problem. As for my comments, I guess I wasn't clear because I was talking about two separate items: 1) the "so-so" quality of the ballpoint system that comes with the PenAgain and 2) my personal preferences. What I should have said was that a higher quality ink and ballpoint system (Pilot comes to mind) would be a nice improvement, but by no means should the ballpoint system be scrapped all together.

I'm going to get a few of these and try them on myself (writer/editor) and my 10- and 13-year old sons, who are both dysgraphic (difficulty with the physical mechanics of writing and pencil grip). However, changing PenAgain to use liquid gel ink would be a terrible idea for my younger son as well as my husband, who are left handed. Why? Left handers slide their writing hand over the words they've just written, which means any ink that doesn't dry immediately becomes smeared. Even as a right hander, I have trouble with gel inks smearing when I do heavy-duty note taking and, therefore, far prefer the traditional ball point ink.

[...] The PenAgain Conundrum at the Closet Entrepreneur. This is great story about a business that Colin Roche dreamed up in high school detention (a place many entrepreneurs spent a lot of time). [...]
