  1. Hi,

I think this is a great idea! I’ll do you one better and use both entry methods…

Two quotes about entrepreneurship have stuck with me throughout the last year.
    1. “Entrepreneurship is like jumping off a cliff and trying to grow wings and learn to fly before hitting the ground.”

    2. Many people fall into the trap of doing many things with mediocre results. Focus on finding the one thing you love and do it extremely well.”

I would prefer to get minicard, on which I would place a QR code that links to a special page of my website where they can e-mail us with their needs and receive 10% off their design services. As far as actual uses for the card, I will be placing them in the tip booklets whenever I go out to eat at smaller, non-chain restaurants in addition to more traditional networking methods.

Great idea and good luck to all those who enter!

  2. “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would have not a single bit of talent left, and could say: ‘I used everything you gave me.'” ~Erma Bombeck

This quote was given to me by a close friend and couldn’t be more relevant for me. With fewer opportunities in the workplace to use my talents, an entrepreneurial spirit is necessary to let them not go to waste, and I find this quote to be an encouragement to not give up.

  3. “There are no great people in this world, only great challenges which ordinary people rise to meet” W. F. Halsey Jr. — this helps me view obstacles as challenges and at the same time, reminds me to be humble because, as I always say, we are all human (mortal).

  4. Chad Lovelace

“Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.” – Albert Einstein

I feel that if you don’t have the imagination to think of something you never will get anywhere in life!

also i would like to use the cards as mini qsl cards for my ham radio adventures!!

  5. Erica

Genius is 1% inspiration, and 99% perspiration – Thomas Edison

It’s a constant reminder that doing something amazing takes work!

  6. Thomas

“Learn from the past, set vivid, detailed goals for the future, and live in the only moment of time over which you have any control: now.”
    ~ Denis Waitley

VCs love to see this in action when investing in their entrepreneurs.

  7. Vanessa

“To be successful, you must act big, think big and talk big.” – Aristotle

“If you can dream it, you can do it.” –Walt Disney

This reminds me every day that any big idea can become a reality if I’m willing to act (big) on it.

  8. those cards look sweet! I am sick and tired of the bland ones I alwas receive. people need to be more creative and unique!

  9. “You eventually learn that true priorities are like arms; if you think you have more than a couple, you’re either lying or crazy.” – Merlin Mann

This reminds me to stay focused on what really matters on the eternal scale, not simply what interests me at the moment.

I will use the cards for an easy way for people to get in touch with me, with my future-proof email address (personal domain) and Google Voice number.

  10. Stephanie

“The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it.” – W. Lewis

A not-so-gentle reminder that nothing is accomplished until we START doing something..anything… and the sooner we start DOING, the better.

  11. Great little giveaway and a way to pick up some inspiration too.
    My quote –
“All anyone can ask of you is your best”
Which is what my Grandad used to tell my Mum, who told me. I’ve adapted it to add “and you *know* when it isn’t!”

If I were to win, I’d use the opportunity to explore some ideas I’ve had for showcasing my photography. I want to use Moo cards to create cute notecards, gift tags and perhaps even try making my own deck of cards via the pdf templates. It’s hard to stand out as a photographer, particularly a nature one, but I see the key is being innovative.

    Kell.

  12. Thank you to all who entered the giveaway!

Congratulations to Kell, Stephanie, Vanessa, and Tiffany, your comment popped up in the random drawing and I’ll be in touch with you soon with details on how to redeem your MOO cards!

    Sincerely,
    ~Tomas

  13. Thankyou so much Tomas! You don’t know how much of a difference this makes right now! =)

  14. I know this contest is over, but I just wanted to leave this entry:

“Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.”
    ― Albert Einstein

Most people don’t view this as inspirational or entrepreneurial, but I find myself using it for guidance on which decisions to make and when. If something I’m doing isn’t working, the answer is not to keep doing it, but to find a solution that does work. This has helped me to reach profitability in start-ups sooner, meet deadlines faster, and come to a better overall idea when brainstorming, dreaming, and casting vision for new projects.

In fact, “doing the same thing over and over again” leads to a certain comfortability, and in business, when you get comfortable, your competition takes over (see Apple, see Avis’ “We’re #2” campaign).

This quote from one of the greatest contributors to science, society, and philosophy keeps me going and helps me succeed.
